This is my go-to potato recipe because it is so easy to do and results in slightly crispy garlic-buttery potato goodness. By microwaving the potatoes then broiling them, you can have the whole dish done in about 20 minutes, compared to the usual roasting methods that take a lot more time. Also I find smashing the potatoes with my hands (protected by an oven mitt) pretty fun to do; I admit that is kind of weird, but hey it’s the little things.
Halibut is a nice mild fish; this recipe takes advantage of that. This subtle combination of flavors compliments the halibut well. You don’t need a lot of spice or brightness to cover up any fishy taste. Not only that but it’s super easy to make, just heat up a butter sauce in the microwave and poor it over your fillets then stick it in the oven for ten minutes and you’re done!
Here is a super easy popcorn recipe that is not too heavy yet flavorful. The garlic infused oil and herbes de Provence are complimented with shredded parmesan. I liked it so much that when I tried some before the photo shoot, I couldn’t stop eating and eventually had to tell myself to save some for the shoot. Its a good thing this recipe yields a lot of popcorn :P
Caesar salad is everyone’s go-to reliable salad, right? I mean, it’s hard to screw up a caesar salad because the combination of ingredients in caesar dressing is pretty fantastic, but why should salads get all the yum? Here is a recipe for a caesar spread that is a little thicker and richer than the dressing so it works well for sandwiches.
Make an impressive dinner in less than half an hour with this “surf & turf” recipe. By cooking the steak first, then making the shrimp & sauce in the same pan – the shrimp mixture picks up some of the flavor of the meat which makes for some delicious crustacean goodness.
With steak, shrimp and wine on the ingredients list – this dinner is a bit of a splurge but it’s well worth it as this combination of flavors really bring out the best in eachother. If you don’t have white wine, some people say that chicken or vegetable stock makes an okay substitute but to be honest, I would probably look for another shrimp sauce recipe because you don’t want to spend all this money only to have it taste off!
