It’s a pretty exciting time in Wisconsin because it’s supposed to be 80°f on thursday. Thursday is 4 days away so I maybe shouldn’t get too excited but if it’s anywhere near that warm I will be happy. What says summer and warm weather and happiness more than raspberry lemonade?
I will admit that while this is a pretty simple recipe in terms of the ingredients list, it is kind of a lot of work for a beverage. I would not recommend making this if you don’t have some kind of juicing apparatus. I just used a manual one and that was enough work. The resulting drink is darn good though, and I think worth while for a special occasion or just to treat yourself!
Recipe adapted from My Baking Addiction’s Raspberry Lemonade
|Prep time||15 minutes|
|Cook time||5 minutes|
|Total time||20 minutes|
- 1 cup raspberries
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 large lemons)
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
|1.||Make a simple syrup by combining 1c water and 1c sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves then remove pan from heat to cool.|
|2.||Puree raspberries in a food processor or blender. Put puree in a fine mesh sieve over a bowl or your pitcher and pour lemon juice in, then press puree with a large spoon until most of the raspberry pulp/juice is through and you have mostly seeds left.|
|3.||Once simple syrup is cool, add it along with 4 cups of cold water to your raspberry/lemon mix and stir to combine.|
