Blue Cheese Stuffed Burgers

My favorite combination of burger toppings have to be blue cheese, spicy ranch and onion.  It may sound kind of strange but it’s pretty fantastic.  The problem is, blue cheese crumbles tend to roll of the burger when you’re trying to eat it.  So I thought, why not stuff the burger with them instead? Problem solved!

It would appear that I’m going red meat crazy since my last post was a steak recipe. This may be sort of true because we did eat a lot of fish while I was away in San Diego.  However, the previous post was shot before we left. :)

Fried onions are a yummy indulgence but raw or grilled onions work great too.  If you’re interested in frying up some of your own, check out my recipe for panko beer batter onion rings.  I had actually fried these onions last week then froze some and reheated them in the oven (350°f for about 15 minutes) to use with these burgers.
